Khawajaand and Rachel married life: Usman Khawaja married Rachel on April 6 in 2018 after they dated for several years. They are today blessed with 2 baby girls.

Rachel and Usman’s started in 2015 at University. Rachel was there to study Marketing. The couple got married on April 6, 2018, after 3 years of dating.

Their engagement took place in 2016. The next year, which is 2017, Rachel converted to Islam to marry the cricketer in the ‘nikah’ ceremony. The couple later got married officially in April18.

Rachel Converted To Islam To Marry Australia Cricketer

Rachel was born in a Catholic family as Rachel McLellan. In an interview to thenews.com.pk, she clarified that converting to Islam was her choice. There was no pressure from Usman. She said that, she felt no pressure from him, not any pressure from his family. she just knew it was so important to him.

In the same interview, Rachel also says that she was ‘very ignorant around Usman’. The cricketer was the first Muslim she ever met and had views which were based on news. “All I read was well, terrorists and awful things,” said Rachel.

Khawajaand and Rachel married life: Rachel and Usman are living happily together. He is quite outspoken about his views on matters related to cricket and world politics. Rachel has been a pillar of strength for him, taking care of the two kids and cheering for him from the stands.

Khawaja wrote ‘All Lives Are Equal’ on his cricket shoes and was looking to play the first Test wearing them. But the International Cricket Counci (ICC) stopped him from doing that. Khawaja is not wearing them in the match anymore but is willing to take approval and get them on in the next match.
Australian opening batter Usman Khawaja will hope to score big in the three-match Test seriess Pakistan starting December 14 at Perth. The left-handed batter has been in the news for his ‘political’ stand over ongoing war between Palestine and Israel.
