NEW YORK This Weekend – New York City will be completely covered in green, as part of the iconic St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
With a history stretching back to 1762, the parade is the most ancient St. Patrick’s Day celebration worldwide.
It is marching up Fifth Avenue in Manhattan for the 236th year.
Two million onlookers and about 150,000 marchers are anticipated.
When does the parade begin and conclude?
The parade will take place on Saturday in observance of the sabbath, even though St. Patrick’s Day is on Sunday.
On Saturday, it begins at 11 a.m. and is anticipated to end at 4:30 p.m.
Where is the route of the parade?
The parade begins at 44th Street and goes along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan for approximately 35 blocks, terminating close to 79th Street.
It will travel along the east side of Central Park, passing near St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
How to watch?
To see all the activity, spectators are encouraged to form a line along Fifth Avenue. For the finest view, arrive early, according to the organizers.

John Elliott, a meteorologist for CBS New York, said Saturday will be clear and cool for the parade.
There is a chance that Sunday morning’s rain will affect the Staten Island procession.
