The BBC Events production section has reportedly been told to wait for a “major announcement” from the royal family regarding the ongoing health crisis. Social media users speculated that the Palace is hiding anything after learning of Kate and King Charles’ recent surgeries.
Sputnik was among the Russian media outlets that disseminated the fake report of King Charles’s passing on Monday. They stated that complications from cancer surgery caused the 75-year-old monarch to pass away on March 18.
The false information spread swiftly over a number of social media channels, raising doubts and creating anxiety before being swiftly disproven.
A fake statement purporting to be from Buckingham Palace announced King Charles’s untimely death alongside the initial rumors.
The British Embassy in Ukraine released an official statement declaring that King Charles is still alive after a rush of false reports from Russian media.
Additionally, Buckingham Palace had to refute the rumor that King Charles III passed away on Monday. This was in response to a statement that said, “The following announcement is made by royal communications,” and was sealed with the official London Palace seal of the British king. Yesterday afternoon, the King unexpectedly passed away.
Later, the rumors were refuted by a statement from the Palace to the state-run news agency in Russia, TASS. The Palace clarified, “We are happy to confirm that The King is continuing with official and private business.”
King Charles is scheduled to witness the color guard ceremony.
King Charles keeps performing his duties in spite of all the rumors regarding his health and the members of the royal family.
He received a cancer diagnosis earlier this year, and while receiving treatment, he has been severely ordered to limit his public appearances.
On the other hand, he is reportedly scheduled to attend the Trooping of the Colour on June 15, which is his birthday.
In a recent virtual speech, King Charles reaffirmed his commitment to serving the Commonwealth in spite of the challenges posed by his health.
